The central teaching of A Program in Miracles is that we are home with God correct now, asleep to our correct nature and dreaming about life on earth. We are like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, dreaming a horrific nightmare that we are dropped and simply cannot find our way residence. Like Dorothy, we extended for residence, also called heaven (or Kansas). Even even though Dorothy thinks Oz is a lovely spot, she retains attempting to locate her way residence. When Dorothy awakens, she finds she is certainly at property with her liked ones. Second to minute we have the chance to click on our heels and go house, to select amongst love and worry, among the reality that we are even now with God or the illusion that we have divided from Him. The System refers to this as the choice in between the ego’s way of pondering and the Holy Spirit’s view of the entire world.
This world, considering that it is stuffed with concern, is an illusion, as God generates only really like. All issues occur from 1 mistake, the mistaken belief that we are divided and by yourself and that God has abandoned us. acim appears to reduce us off from our Source, much like a kink in a drinking water hose helps prevent the source of drinking water from flowing to its spot. We are not able to get God’s enjoy when there are kinks in our thinking. Forgiveness is the major device that opens us to the flow of adore and peace. Forgiveness is stressed above and more than in ACIM as the principal way we find our way back again property.
A System in Miracles states that God is pure Really like, and as Love would in no way develop hell or punish his beloved youngsters. Since this earth is a dream, and dream occurrences are not actual, no one particular has at any time sinned. Even so, in the illusion we see ourselves as flawed men and women, responsible of numerous sins. We believe unsightly ideas and do hideous issues. But that comes from our fake self, the ego, and for that reason it is not true. The final reality is that only God and Enjoy, which are the identical thing, exist. Love is actually another name for God.
We are taught in the Bible that man’s sin keeps him from God, so God experienced to deliver Jesus to die in atonement. Nonetheless, ACIM suggests that Jesus did not die as a sacrificial atonement for man’s sins, simply because God was in no way offended with us to start with. Considering that we have never divided from God, there is no sin to be atoned for. It’s all our bad dream. Jesus willingly selected to be crucified to instruct us that the body and death are not real. He did not suffer on the cross simply because He realized He wasn’t his physique, and his brain was only discovered with God.
