A single Quit Memento Store
A tagline that suggests, “the only store in the city that has it all”, this phrase certainly captured my consideration while I was analyzing Rosanna’s organization card as we had been about to begin the scheduled interview in her store a number of days back. It led me to feel what really is guiding Madyaw Kadyaw Memento Shoppe? Is it like the story of Shoe Mart (a effective shopping mall chains in Asia) owned by Henry Sy? Curious, I went on.
In accordance to Rose, Madyaw Kadyaw a enterprise that endured a lot more than a ten years of difficulties and hard occasions is now going through blissful times of prosperity owing to her special style of managing the organization and most of all by God’s grace.
It’s amazing to be inside a ‘Divisoria-type’ of establishment in Butuan Town the place locals and vacationers (individual and groups) flock the retailer practically day-to-day! A musuem, gallery and trade fair area in a single.
Missionary At Heart
To my shock, this girl entrepreneur who shared her difficult and demanding experiences as once the only female President of 1 of the male-dominated transport businesses in Butuan City truly started an unlikely profession as a single of the missionaries of the Universal Peace Federation at age fourteen. A non-government organization marketing peace advocacies in various elements of the place and the world.
From thereon, Rosanna or Rose as she is warmly known as associated her missionary experiences led her to see things with a wider viewpoint and allowed her to seem at things in different ways with a contact of compassion.
Migrant’s Triumph
Ironically Rose, as 1 of the productive business people in Butuan City and the Agusan del Norte province whose been in the company of promoting souvenirs for nearby and foreign tourists and not to mention the variety of consumers who purchases her products for “pasalubongs” (giveaways) each time they vacation outdoors of the city is not a indigenous of Butuan. A migrant just like most of the folks in this historic town identified for its historical investing with Asia and the world.
Born in Aklan, lifted in Bacolod Town, lived in Cavite and Mindoro and later on on ventured in Butuan Metropolis, Agusan del Norte, Caraga Area in Northern Mindanao together with her husband or wife and kids genuinely enriched her experiences that at some point aided her proven a peculiar organization throughout difficult occasions when the logging market plummet throughout the early nineteen nineties.
Innovative Company
With other recent organization possibilities at hand, Rose truly was manufactured to decide on which between the five possible firms that she’ll venture into. She needs to choose well thinking about the restricted sources she had that time.
From Nativity sets , purified h2o organization, general merchandize and souvenir shop, Rose chose the latter. Questioned why she opted to undertake the souvenir store task, she simply answered, “anything special”.
She also discovered out that there was no obvious lower competitiveness in the memento shop company and from realizing that Butuan Town has a good deal to offer you especially in the arts and crafts simply because of its richness in cultural heritage. Apart from the viability of the endeavor to open up a memento shop Rose wanted to build her artistic gifts and make it productive and worthwhile. Going inventive.
Rose even proudly remembered that her creativity even captivated a number of acknowledged customers in the group. 1 of them was Atty. Josefe “Jojo” Sorrera Ty a renowned attorney and personality in Butuan Metropolis whom Rose designed a gown for her oath getting ceremony a couple of many years back.
Social Company
“Business is only for profit, but it is also to fulfill our social duty to the neighborhood”. As Rose Czar modestly shared how she describes her enterprise. Her viewpoint is over and above organization for profit, but business for services. A budding social entrepreneur.
At current Madyaw Kadyaw is not only concerned in the company of generating creative and top quality memento products. Madyaw is also engaged in achieving out to the much less privilege of Butuan Town notably the inadequate households in Brgy. Amparo, Agusan Pequeno, Pagatpatan and as significantly as Agusan del Sur.
For some time now Rose is extremely energetic in organizing folks who belonged to the marginal sector in the neighborhood (farmers, women, youth and especially the indegenous peoples) at the very same time supplying them guidance through trainings, advertising and technical support as well as partaking in livelihood routines such as weaving, beads-making for fashion accessories and consolidating items produced my local meals and non-producers. Obtain to trade fairs and displays had been not even an exception to the vast possibilities that she lovingly presented.
In addition, Rose presented scholarship to her workers who have been undergraduates and were not capable of supplying for their education and learning. On best of it,also with cost-free board and lodging!.
Even till now, majority of Madyaw’s staff and previous scholars are operating nevertheless in the company and aiding Rose reach out to other folks specifically people who are in want of educational and livelihood help by means of piece-price basis.
Even with of Madyaw’s philanthropic strategy, Rose remains to be humble and even grateful to God for the chance to be a blessing to others no subject how demanding the enterprise may possibly be.
Desire Consolidator
As I get to know Rose far better, I recognized that Madyaw’s Kadyaw’s Memento Shoppe is not only in the business of selling mere souvenirs. Rose also has a large heart for supporting other micro-business owners in the local community. As a consolidator of merchandise (whether foods or non-foods), Rose doesn’t cease from basically merging other goods to be marketed in her keep, she also see to it that products are compensated the moment they are delivered by producers.
Income on shipping or COD is her fashion of performing company with her suppliers. She thinks that it is her exclusive way of supporting her supplier-partners because most of them doe not have ample capital to wait around for payments as in other groceries and other massive consolidating enterprise pays their suppliers.
“It’s not supporting modest organizations when you pay right after the goods have been marketed” Rose replied. “Instead of supporting business people, they delay the progress of the enterprise, the method of delayed payment is self-serving to the huge businesses.”
