Warriors fans have a lot to look forward to this season. There’s a potential showdown with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Christmas Day, a matchup with the defending champion Denver Nuggets on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and a game against the Memphis Grizzlies in which JaMorant could be back from his suspension.
Home Games
Despite a rough start to the 2023-24 Warriors season, there are plenty of must-see home games this year at Chase Center. Among the most intriguing matchups are a continuation of Golden State’s rivalry with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, as well as a Christmas Day meeting with Nikola Jokic and the defending champion Denver Nuggets.
The Warriors will also have five games on ABC, 12 on TNT and 13 on ESPN this season. That includes a pair of nationally-televised meetings with the L.A. Lakers on February 8 and March 7 and a visit from the Memphis Grizzlies in March that will serve as a rematch of last year’s first round playoff matchup that ended with a grueling, back-to-back road trip for the Warriors.
The Warriors will also play a new-look Grizzlies team led by Marc Gasol and without JaMorant and Dillon Brooks in their rotation this time around. Expect a lot of fireworks in this one.

Road Games
After a summer of significant and surprising movement, these Warriors enter training camp under a million microscopes. That intrigue will only intensify when the season tips off Oct. 18 with a home game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The rematch will mark Chris Paul’s first game against the team that traded him this summer, and it’ll also be the Warriors’ first meeting with ballyhooed rookie Victor Wembanyama. The upcoming regular-season matchup is already making some 2022-23 Warriors fans salivate.
The Warriors’ next road game is a return trip to Milwaukee, where they lost six of their last 10 games last year. This time, the Warriors will be without almost all of their veteran starters (Jason Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant are the exceptions), which could make this a gritier affair.
Back-to-Backs
The Warriors play 15 back-to-backs this season, the most in the league. Several of those pairs are potentially problematic, especially in November and January when the Dubs travel to New Orleans twice on the second night of a back-to-back. Last season, the team sat most of its veteran starters in those games and that could happen again.
Golden State plays two back-to-backs against Denver, including the rematch of last year’s playoffs on Christmas Day. Ja Morant is expected to be back from his suspension for waving a gun around and that game could be a wild one.
The Warriors also have a back-to-back with Philadelphia and Indianapolis that will be difficult logistically. That is likely a scheduling move to protect the legs of the veteran starters as they enter what could be their final years in the league. The Warriors play 15 of their 82 games on national TV, the most in the NBA. This will include the first time the Warriors have three consecutive games on national television since 2022.
National TV Appearances
After a summer of dramatic and unexpected movement, the Warriors are among the few teams in the league that inspire broad intrigue heading into training camp. The team’s decision to trade gifted but mercurial young star Jordan Poole and bring in cantankerous veteran Chris Paul sent shockwaves throughout the league and could have significant implications come playoff time.
Golden State’s 29 national TV appearances will include five games on ABC and 12 on TNT, which is more than any other team in the league. The Dubs will also appear on NBA TV a franchise-record 12 times.
Potential can’t-miss games include a continued rivalry with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, a Christmas Day meeting with Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets, and a Jan. 28 rematch against the resurgent Sacramento Kings, who eliminated the Warriors in last year’s first round of the playoffs. Fans will also get their first chance to see top pick Victor Wembanyama in a game at Chase Center.
