A few years back, I stopped watching the news, and I suppose television all together. There was nothing on that raised the human spirit and I was left believing that there were no good and selfless people left in the world. Now, I’m glad to report that good and loving people abound! A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with MS. It altered my life incredibly. For the first time in my life, I was faced with physical and mental limitations. Each new day could only be counted upon for it’s unpredictability. This past winter, the furnace caught fire and needed to be replaced. I was overwhelmed by the prospect, and just couldn’t figure out the logistics of it. A friend and neighbor contacted the regional Rheem Company and explained what was happening. By the following evening, I had a state-of-the-art Rheem gas furnace installed in the basement of my home.
All I could do was sit down and cry. The company manager was completely comfortable with my emotional display. I was grateful for this, and felt put at ease by his demeanor of acceptance. He seemed to understand that a body can be broken in much the same way as a heating system. His only immediate concern was that I wouldn’t freeze during the winter months. A few weeks later, he Furnace Installation Scarborough by to check in and to see if the Rheem gas furnace was working as it should. I shared with him how warm the house is and how energy efficient the system seemed to be. We spoke about how older furnaces such as mine, had an energy efficiency rating of 65% at best. The model I have now has a rating of almost 95%.
Later on in our visit, I brought up the subject of payment. He explained some payment options that would fit my monthly budget. He never once made me feel “owing” to him. I noticed that the paperwork had only the price for the rheem gas furnace but no labor or installation charges. When I pointed this out, he said that an anonymous donation had been made for this purpose. This man never missed a beat !
