As we have discussed earlier, pain and inflammation are two major signs and symptoms of Insect Bite. CBD might be effective in reducing pain and inflammation by interacting with the Endocannabinoid System of the Body.
The Endocannabinoid System is an additional immune system in the body that is responsible for the regulation of many important functions in the body by interacting with internal and external cannabinoid compounds. The major functions which are regulated by the Endocannabinoid System include pain and inflammation responses, mood, sleep, memory and body temperature, etc.
The Endocannabinoid System regulates these functions through its receptors which are known as the Endocannabinoid receptors. There are two types of Endocannabinoid receptors in our body; CB1 and CB2. CBD interacts with both these receptors and produces certain cannabinoids in the body. These cannabinoids are then binding on the surface of Endocannabinoid receptors and block their activity as a result of which the body start feeling relief from pain and inflammation. The mechanism of pain and inflammation reduction by CBD is approved by many independent research studies.
